Building a 1:10 scale model Wharram Designs Narai Mk IV hull

Hi Everyone,

We have progressed into our next phase of R&D for our Narai Mk IV wooden catamaran build: building a 1:10 scale model of one hull. Hanneke Boon, Head of Wharram Designs, strongly suggested we build a model; she’s been building them herself since she was 14 years old. For the next few months, we’ll be sharing Building Logs to establish good practice for documenting the real build, which we anticipate will kick off in June.

I (Angie) want to iterate here that we have no boat building experience, nor hobby modelling. Wharram boat plans are designed for the amateur boat builder, and building a model is a great way to get to know the plans and anticipate the steps of the build before embarking on the ‘real’ thing.
